The Colours of Evil, his translation of a collection of short stories by Ashokamitran, was published in 1998. Since then, he has published fourteen more volumes of translated fiction by eminent Tamil writers such as Ashokamitran, Si Su Chellappa, Vaasanthi, Poomani, Devibharathi, Perumal Murugan and Salma. His translation of Perumal Murugan’s Poonachi was published as The Story of a Goat in the US and UK respectively in 2020 and 2021. Short stories translated by him have appeared in various journals and magazines from time to time.
